Taking a Closer Look at Ancra's Cargo Loading System Equipment
Now that you have an idea as to the kinds of tools and equipment Ancra Aircraft provides, you may be having some more in depth questions about certain ones. Here, you can find more detailed information about our various cargo restraints, power drive units, and guidance and conveyance mechanical systems.
Cargo Restraints
A critical and required safety feature for all Ancra Cargo Loading Systems is our line of Restraint products that keep cargo secure during flight. These products provide you with superior strength and they prevent cargo from shifting around. For Cargo Freighter operators, proper restraint is essential and required.
In order to achieve proper restraint, you need the right devices and the right components to get the job done right. For superior cargo control, you just need to turn to any of our more-than-ready Cargo Restraint products. Our Restraint product line includes standard designs as well as custom.
Cargo Locks
It’s dangerous to carry unsecured cargo in an aircraft, so keep everything stabilized by securing those Unit Load Devices with Ancra Aircraft’s Single Cargo Lock. The Single Cargo Lock’s outside pawl grips onto the cargo pallet’s edge with an unrelenting hold, keeping the entire pallet steady and stabilized throughout the duration of the flight. This lock can work with a number of different types of Unit Load Devices for a more secure load anytime.
The Double Cargo Lock is engineered to achieve optimal security with minimal effort and time. Very easy to install into the aircraft cargo bay, it works flawlessly with the rest of the Cargo Loading System to keep Unit Load Devices from moving before, during, and after flight.
The Triple Cargo Lock is engineered to provide you with the heavy-duty strength to effectively restrain cargo pallets, containers, and other types of Unit Load Devices. Operating our lock is very simple, and the pawls fold flat against the surface when they’re not in use, making it easier to maneuver cargo over them.
Incredibly easy to install within the seat track, this Triple Cargo Lock reliable restrains the entire Unit Load Device through the duration of the flight, even when faced with turbulence.
Assemblies
In order to gain proper control over all types of different Unit Load Devices, Ancra Aircraft recommends that cargo freighter operators use our industrial strength End Stop Assembly. It takes only a few minutes to attach the assembly to the cargo deck, and then you’ll be able to experience complete control over the load. This assembly is engineered to put a stop to potentially dangerous unsecured cargo.
Ancra Aircraft’s Rail Assembly is the framework that helps hold the entire Cargo Loading System together. Without a Rail Assembly, the Unit Load Devices have no secure way to reach their loading position. This assembly works flawlessly with the rollers so that operators can easily maneuver cargo for better securement.
One of the main components of Ancra Aircraft’s durable Rail Assembly is an equally durable Cross Track. These tracks act as attachment points for the rollers that propel the Unit Load Devices along the entire Rail Assembly. The Cross Track is also where Cargo Locks are attached, which are designed to prevent cargo from moving.
We also carry our Side Restraint Assembly Outboard, Restraint Assembly, Lateral Guide Assembly, Forward Stop Assembly, and Center Guides, all of which have been engineered to provide you with a solid means of keeping cargo firmly immobilized all throughout the duration of the flight.
Power Drive Units
Ancra Aircraft’s 3-inch Power Drive Units (PDU’s) are designed as drop-in replacements for original equipment and aftermarket PDU’s on B767, B777, and B747Fs, without modification to the aircraft structure or electrical connections.
Ancra Aircraft has also developed a 2-inch PDU for lower deck applications. These self-lifting, low-profile units weigh less (9 pounds) and are lower cost alternatives to other in-service PDU’s.
PDU’s That Deliver More
The PDU’s feature:
- High-traction force and controlled vertical force for maximum grip in wet or dry conditions
- A single-drive roller that doesn’t retract during direction reversal, offering continuous control
- Field replaceable electrical cable, environmentally sealed electronics, motors, and gearing to aid in maintenance
- Dual brushless DC motor operated by solid state power switching modules with redundant optical sensors and scrub sensors to minimize wear and tear on the roller rubber
- Sophisticated control system to detect soft and hard pallet characteristics for optimized traction and reliability
We carry 2" PDU’s that are offered in self-lifting or spring-loaded designs, a steerable PDU that is a drop-in replacement for 747Fs, and a 3" PDU that optimizes weight, reliability, performance, and life-cycle costs.
Guidance and Conveyance Mechanical Systems
Ancra Aircraft has engineered its products for optimum performance, reliability, and safety for the movement of pallets and/or Unit Load Devices (ULD’s) on main and lower deck systems.
Our Guidance and Conveyance product line includes standard and custom designs and includes Rails, Splitters, Side Guides, and Cross Tracks as well as Ballmats, Roller Trays and Rails, Pivot and Transport Rollers, Ball Transfer Units, Door Sill Assembly, and Capstan Rollers.
Guidance and Conveyance Systems For Smoother Handling
Many of these products work together seamlessly to provide you with a secure and reliable method of transporting and handling pallets and other types of ULD’s. For example, the Ballmats are designed to help keep the aircraft load rolling along without a hitch,
improving the entire loading process. These Ballmats are floor mounted and consist of a series of smooth rolling balls. The balls are designed to aid the operator into maneuvering the cargo into the appropriate direction for easier and more efficient handling.
Meanwhile, the Roller Tray is engineered to allow the load to smoothly flow on top of the tray, eliminating any possible disruptions along the way. We’ve taken every step to ensure our Roller Tray is durable enough for the job with resistance against wear and tear common in aircraft cargo conditions.
Ancra Aircraft’s goal is to make the entire system as seamless and smooth as possible, offering a more secure and reliable way of handling your cargo.
